Getting back

When I giggled about the day,
wrapped in a tarpaulin, as faulty
as my leaking roof, I
did not hold back the tears

If this water is what you mock
at, I would only smile.
Run my gentle fingers down your
bronze heart for- 
all I wish is to mould your vision
and show you my sun
beyond these blind lights

Like a desert rose, feeling your
eyes straight, somewhere but not me,
I want you to see this flower

The hush of a busy road, like
some music, too rude to be played
conspiring against me to
end the journey, and you are only
slipping away
forgetting me, unheard

Come across the fallen bridge,
Why don’t we tie the ropes back
Searching for a
