Ends don't come easily

Believing the saviour’s arms wrapped around
she played her instrument all through the night
scouting for answers buried in her grave, sealed

The messiah out of an easy conundrum stepped,
waking up her dead love into a mass of placid lake
with the guns losing their bullets forever in all

but no happy ending still.
